Job Description

The Production Team Manager is responsible for efficient operations of assigned Production Teams encompassing safety, quality, and production. Must present a professional image both in the office and at outside activities. Must demonstrate good management and decision-making skills, along with understanding the basics of good manufacturing practices. Is accountable for practicing and promoting safe working habits, compliance with Company policies/procedures, and contribution to the overall Electronic Systems, Inc. team.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manages and coordinates daily production schedule including staffing and scheduling of equipment and processes.
  • Completes/conducts performance evaluations and corrective actions; addresses complaints and resolves problems. Ensures that company policies and procedures are being followed.
  • Identifies and facilitates training and growth opportunities for production teams and assists with developing/implementing required training.
  • Identifies, monitors, and takes action to improve production related metrics using lean methodologies to drive improvement efforts.
  • Ensures that appropriate safety and ergonomic processes and methods are being utilized in the production areas. Identifies and implements solutions to improve safety.
  • Communicate and interact with planning, engineering, facilities, and other production teams to meet quality and production goals. Monitor production schedules to determine requirements for completion of job assignments. Assist production teams with establishing priorities and develop staffing plans and shipping dates.
  • Assist in preparing staffing and budget plans.
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree and three to five years related manufacturing supervisor experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience in training and working in a team-oriented environment.
  • Experience in electronic manufacturing preferred but not required
  • Ability to interact with a variety of personnel in a positive and professional manner.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and understanding of lean manufacturing principles.
  • Able to follow electrical and mechanical drawings.
  • An understanding of Microsoft software required
  • Strong communication skills. Fluent in English, both written and verbal.
  • Physical Requirements:
    • Lift and carry up to 45 pounds.
    • Distinguish and identify colors.
    • Ability to work with odors.

Frequent external and internal contacts with associates, outside customers, and resource people.
General production environment.
Manages assigned Production Teams using sound judgment and discretion.  Support and provide high quality service to our internal and external customers.
